Dr. Mahsa Farzaneh is board certified Specialist in Endodontics with 20 years of experience. She studied at the University of Toronto where she obtained her general dentistry degree in 1996. She then spent one year in a prestigious residency program at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children where she gained advanced experience in the management of dental trauma and paediatric care. After a number of years working as a general dentist, she went on to specialize in Endodontics at the University of Toronto. She has been fully trained to carry out all root canal procedures using a surgical microscope. Dr. Farzaneh was an Associate in Dentistry at the University of Toronto's Dental Faculty for 15 years, where she has taught in the Radiology and Endodontics Departments.  She is an active member in multiple professional organizations both in Canada and internationally. She is also a volunteer dentist with Restoring Smiles, a charitable organization that provides pro bono dental work for victims of domestic abuse.

 

Dr. Valerie Tom-Kun is a board certified Specialist in Endodontics with over 10 years of experience.  Her post-secondary education began by completing an Honours Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toronto in Immunology.  She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of British Columbia in 2006.  After graduating, she continued her general dentistry education at the University of Alberta residency program, which included working at the University of Alberta Hospital Dental Emergency Clinic. After working as a general dentist in Edmonton, for some time, she returned to Toronto to earn her Master of Sciences degree and Specialty Training in Endodontics at the University of Toronto in 2011.  She also passed the prestigious American Diplomate Examination. Dr. Tom-Kun has been fully trained to carry out all root canal procedures including surgical therapy using a surgical microscope. She has worked as a clinical instructor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry. She has been a member in multiple professional organizations both in Canada and internationally. Dr. Tom-Kun has volunteered multiple times with Helping Hands Medical Missions as a health practitioner in both Brazil and El Salvador.

Ella

Ella is an invaluable member of the Uptown Endodontics team. In her role as receptionist and treatment coordinator, she is an excellent resource in assisting our patients with booking appointments and communicating with their family dentist to obtain any required information and xrays prior to their appointment. She is also experienced in explaining and managing all insurance matters, as well as handling complex treatment plans. Ella always follows up with our patients on the day after their procedure to ensure that they are doing well. She is well versed in recognizing dental emergencies by phone and efficiently booking patients with pain.


Emelie

Emelie

Emelie is a certified dental assistant who has been working with Dr. Farzaneh for many years. She is friendly and caring and has a great rapport with our patients. She is always prepared for procedures ranging from simple to complex root canal therapies and has been trained for chairside assisting using microscope technology and digital radiography. Emelie is always a friendly face at our office.
